Our TNP friend and expert shooter Rob Leatham shows us the wicked cool and size efficient .45 ACP XDS. Less than 1 inch in thickness, 5+1, great sights and apparent accuracy, high reliability (they say), and lightweight. Heck they can't even keep them in stock now. It will compete well against the striker fired Kahr PM/CW series of pistols especially at its lower price. If you want the hitting power of the .45 ACP in the most size efficient (and cost efficient) package, this is it boys.
I would never buy the new Sig P224. In fact I can't think of a reason of why they made it. I think the objective was concealed carry. But it's too thick, too heavy, and has an abbreviated grip. I still love the classic P228/229/226 Sigs but those are full sized pistols with different POUs. And check out that retail price...unbelievable. Instead get excited about the trim and slim Sig P938. At 17.5 or so ounces it's a much better option. If it's as reliable and accurate as the .380 P238 then it will be another win. Be careful though: that's still a cocked and lock carry battery of arms which may not be suitable for the inexperienced carrier. Also it loses round capacity to other guns like the even-lighter Kel-Tec PF-9. But most it seems to be an excellent entry into the CCW/CCP market and it will compete well against the Kimber Solo, Springfield EMP, and others.
Possibly my very favorite little pistol on the planet, the G27 Gen 4 is shot and shown! I love this gun!
